Scholarship Application
AWA is committed to making mental health care accessible by supporting families in need. This scholarship reflects AWA’s dedication to equity and lasting positive impact on community well-being so more teens can receive vital treatment. By doing so, it promotes healthier, resilient youth, empowering families to thrive.
Applications for AWA scholarships are open to families with financial need, including those with Medicaid-only or no insurance. Submission does not guarantee selection. Applications are reviewed based on eligibility and scholarship availability. Not all eligible applicants will receive scholarships. Awardees will be contacted by email and phone. All information is confidential and used only to determine eligibility and placement.
Eligibility Criteria
- All custodial parents/guardians must provide written consent for participation.
- Family must commit to consistent attendance.
- Family must commit to full involvement and participation in program requirements.
- Child must require clinical level of care offered by the program.
- Child must express a genuine interest in engaging in personal growth and the therapeutic process.
- Family must show financial need.
Application Process
- Parent/guardian completes the scholarship application (including financial disclosure and personal statement).
- Parent/guardian will be contacted by email and phone if eligible and if a spot is available.
- Teen participates in an admissions screening and clinical assessment.
- Applications are reviewed by the AWA Scholarship Committee (representatives from Clinical, Operations, and Leadership).
- Decisions are communicated to families within 2 weeks.
Award Details
- Scholarships may cover partial or full treatment costs depending on need and available resources.
- Award duration is tied to the treatment plan and reviewed regularly.
- Full family involvement in treatment and regular attendance are required to maintain the scholarship.
