    • Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT)
    • Dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT)
    • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
    • Holistic and experiential therapies such as yoga, mindfulness, and music and art therapy
  • Nutritional support as required

Teens may struggle with a variety of conditions that benefit from mental health care in addition to therapy. At Adolescent Wellness Academy, we use intensive outpatient treatment as part of treatment plans for:

Our psychiatric team works to understand the whole picture – emotional, behavioral, academic, and social – before recommending any treatment options. Every teen receives a care plan tailored to their unique needs.

Benefits of intensive outpatient treatment for troubled teens

Teens continue to attend their own school and other activities while pursuing their therapeutic goals. Our afterschool program begins at 4:00 pm and ends at 7:00 pm, Monday through Friday, with two daily groups. Teens may attend 3 or 5 days per week. We recognize that personal growth involves self-discovery, and the pace of this journey varies for each individual. As a general guideline, teens typically participate in the program for 10-16 weeks.

Each adolescent receives a personalized treatment plan developed by our pediatric mental health professionals to address their specific concerns and goals. Our team collaborates with each teen in a supportive, confidential environment, encouraging them to express their thoughts and emotions. Involving family members is encouraged when appropriate, as it strengthens progress and offers a well-rounded support system.
